Circa 1850-1870s, .812 Silver, Germany. This Baroque revival service for 18 is perfect for an antique or modernist decor. The asymmetric swag motif with a shell form terminus has an elegantly sleek look and the larger European size and heavier weight are a pleasure in the hand. The complex monogram includes a Baron's coronet with many points indicating a noble household. The quality of the pieces is superb and it is rare to fine complete sets of this age that include knives. This set consists of 18 each of the following: dinner fork, dinner knife, smaller knife, smaller fork (perfect for salad) table spoon and dessert spoon. Tea spoons did not exist in continental sets at this time. Noted: the knives were re-bladed in the 20th century.

Remarks from Lawrence Jeffrey: "A noble service, perfect for a democratized American table!"
